Title: The Power of Words: Understanding How Words Can Hurt
Introduction
Words have immense power. They can inspire, uplift, and bring joy to our lives. However, they also have the potential to cause harm, leaving lasting scars on those they touch. In this podcast, I will delve into the profound impact of words, particularly how they can hurt and why it's crucial to understand and address this issue.
The Impact of Hurtful Words
Words can leave a lasting impact on our emotions, psyche, and relationships. They can inflict deep wounds that may take years to heal when used thoughtlessly or maliciously. Understanding the consequences of hurtful words is essential for fostering empathy and compassion in our interactions with others.
Emotional and Psychological Effects
Hurtful words can have profound emotional and psychological effects on their recipients. They can shatter self-esteem, undermine confidence, and instill feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy. Repeated exposure to verbal abuse or negativity can lead to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. The scars left by hurtful words often linger long after the initial wounds have healed, affecting one's sense of self-worth and ability to form healthy relationships.
Social Consequences
Beyond their impact, hurtful words can also have significant social consequences. They can damage relationships, erode trust, and create rifts between friends, family members, and colleagues. In extreme cases, verbal abuse can escalate into physical violence or other forms of abuse. Moreover, hurtful words spoken in public or shared on social media platforms can tarnish reputations and lead to ostracization and social exclusion.
Real-Life Examples
Consider the case of a child who is repeatedly bullied and belittled by their peers at school. The hurtful words hurled at them daily not only inflict emotional pain but also affect their academic performance and social interactions. Despite efforts to brush off the insults, the constant barrage of negativity affects their self-esteem and mental well-being.
Similarly, in the workplace, hurtful words by a supervisor or colleague can create a toxic work environment, leading to decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and high employee turnover. The impact of verbal abuse extends beyond the individual target, affecting the morale and overall dynamics of the entire team or organization.
Understanding the Source
To effectively address the issue of hurtful words, it's essential to delve into the deeper roots of why people use them. While hurtful words can stem from various factors, including personal insecurities, unresolved anger, or a desire for control, understanding the underlying motives and intentions can help foster self-awareness and empathy.
Why Do People Use Hurtful Words?
Insecurity and Low Self-Esteem
Unresolved Anger and Frustration
Desire for Control and Dominance
Examining Motives and Intentions
It's essential to recognize that hurtful words often reflect deeper emotional issues and insecurities. By examining the motives and intentions behind hurtful language, the speaker and the recipient can gain valuable insights into their behavior and emotional triggers. Practicing self-reflection and empathy can help break the cycle of hurtful communication and foster healthier relationships built on mutual respect and understanding.
Healing and Overcoming Hurtful Words
While hurtful words can leave deep wounds, healing and moving forward with resilience and self-awareness is possible. Individuals can reclaim their sense of self-worth and rebuild damaged relationships by implementing strategies for coping with hurtful words and fostering emotional well-being.
Strategies for Coping with Hurtful Words
Self-Care and Self-Compassion

The Realty of Spiritual warfare
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
In a world where what we see is often considered reality, an invisible battle is taking place beneath the surface. Spiritual warfare, often brushed off as mere folklore, deserves our attention. It's time to unmask the truth and understand the reality of this unseen realm.
There are two primary errors in spiritual warfare—over-emphasis and under-emphasis. Some blame every sin, every conflict, and every problem on demons that need to be cast out. Others completely ignore the spiritual realm and the fact that the Bible tells us our battle is against spiritual powers. The key to successful spiritual warfare is finding the biblical balance. Jesus sometimes cast demons out of people; other times, He healed people with no mention of the demonic. The apostle Paul instructs Christians to wage war against the sin in themselves (Romans 6) and warns us to oppose the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10–18).
Understanding the Invisible Battle
Spiritual warfare encompasses a battle beyond what we can perceive with our physical senses. It is a battle fought in the spiritual realm, where unseen forces clash and vie for power. These forces are not limited to the supernatural but also extend to individuals' thoughts, emotions, and actions.
At its core, spiritual warfare is a battle between good and evil, light and darkness. It is a battle for humanity's souls and minds. The enemy, often referred to as Satan or the Devil, seeks to deceive, manipulate, and ultimately destroy. His tactics range from subtle whispers of doubt to overt temptations that entice us from the path of righteousness.
The reality of spiritual warfare in everyday life
Spiritual warfare is not confined to the pages of ancient texts or the realms of mythology. It is a reality that permeates our everyday lives. Our battles may not be physical, but they are no less accurate. They manifest in internal struggles, external conflicts, and the constant barrage of negative influences surrounding us.
In our relationships, spiritual warfare can manifest as discord, jealousy, and bitterness. It can tempt us to engage in harmful behaviors or lead us astray from our values and beliefs. In our minds, spiritual warfare takes the form of doubt, fear, and anxiety. It seeks to erode our faith and undermine our confidence in the goodness of God.
Recognizing the reality of spiritual warfare is crucial for navigating life's challenges with clarity and purpose. It allows us to understand the root causes of our struggles and empowers us to take proactive steps to protect ourselves and our loved ones.
Signs of spiritual warfare
Identifying the signs of spiritual warfare is essential for effectively combating the enemy. These signs can manifest in various ways and may differ from person to person. However, there are common indicators that we can look out for.
One sign of spiritual warfare is a persistent feeling of unease or heaviness. It may manifest as a constant sense of dread or a feeling that something is wrong. Other signs include recurring negative thoughts, unexplained physical ailments, and a general sense of spiritual stagnation.
Recognizing these signs requires us to be attuned to our emotions, thoughts, and physical well-being. It requires us to be honest with ourselves and open to seeking guidance and support when needed.
Weapons for spiritual warfare
Equipping ourselves with the right weapons is critical for engaging in spiritual warfare. These weapons are not physical but spiritual. They include faith, prayer, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Faith is our foundation, allowing us to trust God's goodness and sovereignty despite adversity. Prayer is our communication with God, seeking guidance, strength, and protection. The Word of God is our source of truth, providing wisdom, advice, and encouragement. The power of the Holy Spirit empowers us to resist the enemy, granting us supernatural strength and discernment.
Using these weapons requires intentional effort and discipline. It involves cultivating a deep and personal relationship with God, studying His Word, and consistently praying and worshiping.
Strengthening your spiritual defenses
Just as physical exercise strengthens our bodies, spiritual exercises strengthen our faith and resilience. Nurturing our spirits is vital for building our spiritual defenses.
One way to strengthen our spiritual defenses is through regular meditation and reflection. Taking time to quiet our minds and connect with God allows us to gain clarity and insight. It helps us to discern His will and align our thoughts and actions with His truth.
Another way to strengthen our spiritual defenses is through fellowship with other believers. Surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals who share our faith and values provides a support system and encouragement. It allows us to learn from one another's experiences, share insights, and hold each other accountable.
Seeking spiritual guidance and support
Amid spiritual warfare, seeking spiritual guidance and support is crucial. We are not meant to fight this battle alone. God has provided us with a community of believers who can offer wisdom, guidance, and intercession on our behalf.
Seeking spiritual guidance can come in various forms. It may involve consulting with a trusted pastor or spiritual mentor who can provide insight and direction. It may also include participating in small group studies or attending church services where we can receive teaching and encouragement.
Additionally, it is invaluable to surround ourselves with prayer warriors who can intercede on our behalf. These are individuals who are committed to lifting us up in prayer, covering us with God's protection, and standing in the gap when we are weary.
Overcoming spiritual attacks
In the battle against spiritual forces, it is essential to understand that victory is possible. We are not powerless against the enemy's attacks. Through the power of God, we can overcome and emerge stronger.
One key strategy for overcoming spiritual attacks is to resist the enemy. James 4:7 reminds us, "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." By submitting ourselves to God and actively resisting the enemy's influence, we can experience victory.
Another strategy is to stand firm in our faith. Ephesians 6:13 urges us to put on the whole armor of God, which includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and the shoes of the gospel of peace. These spiritual armor pieces help protect us and enable us to stand firm against the enemy's attacks.
The role of prayer in spiritual warfare
Prayer is a powerful weapon in the battle against spiritual forces. Our direct line of communication with God enables us to seek His guidance, protection, and intervention.
Prayer strengthens our relationship with God and invites His presence into our lives. Through prayer, we can experience His peace, find comfort in His love, and receive His supernatural strength.
In spiritual warfare, prayer can take various forms. It can be individual prayers offered in solitude, communal prayers with other believers, or even intercessory prayers on behalf of others. The important thing is to cultivate a consistent and intentional prayer life and make it a priority in our spiritual journey.
Conclusion: Empowering yourself in the battle against spiritual forces
Spiritual warfare is a reality that we cannot afford to ignore. It is a battle fought in the unseen realm, shaping our lives and influencing our thoughts, emotions, and actions. By understanding the reality of spiritual warfare, we can equip ourselves with the knowledge and tools necessary to overcome the enemy's attacks.
Recognizing the signs of spiritual warfare, arming ourselves with the right weapons, and strengthening our spiritual defenses are all crucial steps in this ongoing battle. Seeking spiritual guidance and support, standing firm in our faith, and engaging in prayer empowers us to emerge victorious.
Ephesians 6:10–12 says, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." This text teaches some crucial truths:
We can only stand firm in the Lord's power.
Its armor protects us, and our b.
Ultimately against spiritual forces of evil in the world.
So, let you
Unmask the invisible battle that rages around us. Let us embrace the reality of spiritual warfare and arm ourselves with the truth. In doing so, we can navigate life's challenges with clarity, purpose, and unwavering faith. The battle may be invisible, but the victory is assured.
A word of caution concerning spiritual warfare is in order. The name of Jesus is not a magic incantation that causes demons to flee from before us. The seven sons of Sceva are an example of what can happen when people presume an authority they have not been given (Acts 19:13–16). Even Michael the archangel did not rebuke Satan in his power but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 1:9). When we start talking to the devil, we run the risk of being led astray as Eve was (Genesis 3:1–7). Our focus should be on God, not demons; we speak to Him, not them.
In summary, what are the keys to success in spiritual warfare? We rely on God's power, not our own. We put on the whole armor of God. We draw on the power of Scripture—the Word of God is the Spirit's sword. We pray in perseverance and holiness, making our appeal to God. We stand firm (Ephesians 6:13–14); we submit to God; we resist the devil's work (James 4:7), knowing that the Lord of hosts is our protector. "Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken" (Psalm 62:2).

The Miracle of Easter
Resurrection Greetings!
We often hear people refer to an unexplainable event as a “miracle,” and we have become a bit too used to hearing the term used out of context and meaning.
When Jesus was here on this earth, the Bible tells us this:
Acts 10:38 (NKJV) 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
The good that Jesus did was miraculous in so many ways and had no explanation for what took place other than it was an “act of God.” We often hear the term “act of God” today as it references tragic events such as hurricanes or tornadoes, etc. but the acts of God Jesus did were good things!
From the moment Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and placed in the womb of the virgin Mary, Miracles marked his life! He gave sight to the blind and gave the lame man the power to walk again. A woman reached out to touch the hem of His garment, and that act of faith healed her immediately!
The list could go on and on, and one of the miracles that astounded the people was raising Lazarus from the dead. Yet, we know that eventually, even Lazarus would die once again.
The miracle of Easter is that Jesus rose from the grave because death could not hold Him! He had lived a sinless life and died as our substitute so that you and I can experience the amazing miracle of Salvation!
Without the Miracle of the Resurrection, we have nothing, but with it, we have not only abundant life in the here and now, but eternal life! The Resurrection of Jesus Christ sets Christianity apart from all the religions of this world!
1 Corinthians 15:17-22 (NKJV) 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. 20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
As we come upon this wonderful time of year called Easter, we encourage you to join me for worship at Easter Sunday.
Would you take a few moments right now to make a list of 4 or 5 people you would consider inviting to church if they don't already attend a Bible-believing church?

Is America Embracing Communism?: Unraveling the Debate Surrounding Socialism in the United States
In recent years, a heated debate has been brewing in the United States over socialism and its association with communism. Is America embracing communism? This controversial question has divided people across the political spectrum and sparked intense discussions on the nation's future.
For some, socialism represents a long-awaited solution to income inequality and inadequate social programs. They argue that a more equitable distribution of wealth and resources can address systemic issues and provide a safety net for all Americans. On the other hand, critics fear that embracing socialism could lead America down a dangerous path toward communism, sacrificing individual freedoms and stifling innovation.
As this debate continues, it becomes clear that socialism is no longer a fringe ideology in American politics. Influential figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have championed progressive policies and gained significant support among younger generations.
Understanding socialism and communism
To unravel the complexities surrounding socialism in the United States, it is crucial first to understand the fundamental differences between socialism and communism. While both ideologies advocate for a more equal distribution of wealth, they differ in their approach. Socialism aims to achieve this through a democratic process, where the government controls specific industries and provides social safety nets. On the other hand, communism seeks to establish a classless society where all property is publicly owned, and the community controls the means of production.
Historical context: the Cold War and the Red Scare
To fully grasp the skepticism towards socialism and its association with communism in the United States, one must consider the historical context of the Cold War and the Red Scare. During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union engaged in a decades-long ideological battle, with communism being seen as a direct threat to American values and democracy. This fear was further fueled by the Red Scare, a period of anti-communist hysteria in the 1950s, led by Senator Joseph McCarthy, which resulted in the persecution of alleged communists and their sympathizers.
The rise of socialism in the United States
Despite the historical skepticism towards socialism, the ideology has gained traction recently, particularly among younger generations. Influential figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have become prominent advocates for progressive policies such as Medicare for All, free college tuition, and a higher minimum wage. Their popularity reflects a growing dissatisfaction with the status quo and a desire for more equitable policies.
Arguments for embracing socialism
Proponents of socialism in the United States argue it offers a solution to income inequality and inadequate social programs. They believe a more equal distribution of wealth and resources can help bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, providing everyone with access to essential services such as healthcare and education. They argue that the current capitalist system perpetuates systemic injustices and benefits the wealthy at the expense of the working class.
Furthermore, supporters of socialism emphasize the importance of a solid social safety net. They believe that a robust welfare system can provide a safety net for individuals during economic hardship, ensuring that no one is left behind. Socialism, they argue, prioritizes the collective well-being of society over individual wealth accumulation.
Arguments against embracing socialism
Critics of socialism in the United States expressed concerns about the potential dangers of embracing such an ideology. They argue that socialism could lead to a loss of individual freedoms and stifling of innovation. They contend that the government's increased control over industries and resources could result in a less efficient economy, hindering growth and prosperity.
Another argument against socialism is the fear of excessive government intervention. Critics argue that an expanded role of the government in the economy could lead to bureaucracy and inefficiency, hindering individual initiative and entrepreneurship. They believe the free market, with its competition and incentives, is the best mechanism for driving economic growth and innovation.
The role of the government in socialism
One of the critical aspects of socialism is the role of the government in the economy. Supporters argue that the government should play a significant role in ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens and regulating industries to prevent exploitation. They advocate for progressive taxation, wealth redistribution, and government-funded social programs to address income inequality and provide essential services.
On the other hand, critics of socialism argue for limited government intervention, advocating for a free market system where individuals can pursue their economic interests. They believe a smaller government allows for greater personal freedom and economic prosperity.
Current examples of socialist policies in the United States
While the United States is often associated with capitalism, there are several examples of socialist policies in place. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are all government-run programs that support vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and low-income individuals. Public education, funded by taxpayer dollars, is often seen as a socialist policy ensuring equal access to all education.
Moreover, some cities and states have implemented progressive policies, such as a higher minimum wage and paid family leave. These policies aim to address income inequality and provide greater economic security for workers.
Public opinion on socialism in America
Public opinion on socialism in America is divided. A 2019 Gallup poll found that 43% of Americans view socialism favorably, while 51% view it unfavorably. However, there is a stark generational divide, with younger Americans expressing more positive views towards socialism compared to older generations.
The changing attitudes towards socialism can be attributed to various factors, including economic inequality, rising student loan debt, and a lack of affordable healthcare. Many young Americans see capitalism as failing to provide equal opportunities and turn to socialism as an alternative.
The impact of socialism on the economy and individual freedom
The impact of socialism on the economy and individual freedom is a topic of great debate. Proponents argue that socialism can create a more equitable society where wealth and resources are distributed fairly. They believe a robust social safety net can provide individuals the support they need to thrive. However, critics argue that socialism can stifle economic growth and innovation by reducing individual incentives and relying on government control.
The balance between economic equality and individual freedom is delicate, and finding the right approach is essential for shaping the future of socialism in the United States.
Conclusion: the future of socialism in the United States
As the debate surrounding socialism and its association with communism unfolds, it becomes evident that socialism is no longer a fringe ideology in American politics. Influential figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have brought progressive policies to the forefront of national discussions, gaining significant support among younger generations.
While the United States has a long-standing skepticism towards socialism, the changing attitudes of the younger population suggest a shift in the political landscape. The future of socialism in America is uncertain, but the debate will continue to shape the nation's political discourse.
I wonder, do people realize? The horror. The horror of the nation that we're living in. The central horror of the country that we live in. Where were The Christian leaders during COVID-19? The dog-gone government had the churches shut down, but did you know that marijuana shops stayed open in liquor stores open. But The churches did not stay open. The leaders should have stood firm because, during that time frame, we needed to be in an Assembly of God. Then you have all this here—critical theory, transgender theory, queer theory, all these things that are going on. The Bible clearly states that a marriage is between a woman and a man.
Now, some people may prefer to avoid hearing this. But it is the truth. So, I asked myself if America was becoming a communist nation, it seemed like. The government. They got their hands in everyone's pockets. But yet, I have to be honest, and we still must pray for our government because that is the will of God. But we also need to stand up against the radical stains. We are called to stand up. And protect. The widowers, the oppressed, and the young we are called to do that. The Bible does not give us a sense of fear or intimidation, it says. We do not have fear. Fear is in the Bible 365 times, so let's stand firm, family, in Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 1:7
7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
We are supposed to be strong and courageous. I don't know exactly. What others may think, and I'm not going to pretend I do. But I know that our Christian leaders stand up against what's happening in this world, not just our Christian leaders but all Christians to stand up against what's happening.
Back in the 60s. The Supreme Court. Took prayer out of the public schools. I believe in the power of prayer. And I believe. In the supernatural healing and powers of prayers well.
These things will occur because worship prayer goes to our heavenly Father and when we ask things in Jesus' name. It will occur.
I asked myself the question, how many Christians are cowards down And willing to do and say whatever someone advised them to do? Leaders also need to stand up.
I ask myself the same questions about our Christian leaders.
Why don't we stand firm in our faith? Why don't we Stand firm in the Word of God? Because that's what we need to do.
We are nothing. Without God and Jesus in our lives, I don't care what anyone may claim to say or believe. We are nothing without Jesus in God, in our life: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We need them.
And I just don't get it. People do not understand the central horror of our times: Communists are coming to America.
Both Republicans and Democrats are already using the C-word to blunt his appeal. In Wednesday night's Democratic debate, Mike Bloomberg described Bernie Sanders's stance on wealth as "communist." Trump, meanwhile, has already called Sanders a Communist.
I have no other way of saying. If you know and you think about it. How many leaders candy-coat things? and
And disregarded a lot of things that were going on because.
The government says so, yes. Again, I know we're supposed to obey the state's laws.
We're supposed to obey that. But I asked myself again, where are the Christian leaders? They seem to be tucking their tails in and running because they are afraid. Of the government and reiterate when I saw it earlier during COVID-19.
Yes, marijuana shops and liquor stores opened, but the churches had to be closed down.
So when are we going to stand up? I'm not saying that. We're going to go in there and fist-fight the government.
But what I am saying. We need to stand up against what is wrong. We need to stand up against what people are doing.
All this critical theory, all this transgender theory, all these queer theories, we need to stand up because I don't know what's in your Bible.
But I know it's in my Bible. We were either born male. Or female. There is no such thing as that. I'm a man in a woman's body. There's no such thing. I'm a woman in a man's body. That's all I can say is that. And That's bull cocky.
Because there's no such thing as you listen to this podcast, I know people will get angry.
They're going to get upset. But you know what? I don't care.
I will stand firm in my faith in how to do as the Lord leads me because we are called to stand firm. The last time I read my Bible, the words Do not fear. It's in the Bible 365 times.
Now, some people need to wake up, and that's the knock—the dust off your Bible. And stop using your Bible for a beer coaster. It would help if you started reading it. And you have no excuse not to read God's word.
We have so many apps that you can use to read God's word.
I don't know how many bible apps are out there, but the ones I'd use on my phone is you version if I downloaded that. And also think about one of the most prominent. Preacher Billy Graham. He stood up against the irony of the government and said what was wrong.
He was not afraid to preach the truth about what was going on in America and what was happening here.
And all this separation of church and state. You may need to learn where it came from. Lydan B Jhonson. At this time, he was a senator. Does the Johnson Amendment prevent churches from talking about social and political issues?
In 1954, Congress approved an amendment by Sen. Lyndon Johnson to prohibit 501(c)(3) organizations, which includes charities and churches, from engaging in any political campaign activity. To the extent Congress has revisited the ban over the years, it has strengthened it.
Who is to decide what we should do or not do?
In this era of political polarization and economic inequality, it is crucial to engage in thoughtful discussions about the merits and drawbacks of socialism.
By exploring the arguments on both sides and considering the potential impact on the economy and individual freedom, we can better understand the complexities surrounding this contentious topic and work towards finding solutions that benefit all Americans.
We Need God in Jesus back in our school, courthouse, and nation.

Faith in Action: Uniting as Christians to Confront Evil in Our Society
Introduction
In a society plagued by evil, there is power in unity. As Christians, our faith calls us to stand together and confront the darkness within our communities and nation. Failure to do so is letting evil run crazy.Think about what just happened in the 2024 Kansas City parade shooting: Four Atlanta students were injured in a shooting outside high school; a 17-year-old Perry student killed a sixth-grader and wounded 7 in a school shooting. And so much more violence.
It is a call to action, a call to be the hands and feet of Christ, and a call to make a difference.
In this podcast, we will explore how we can join forces as believers to tackle the pressing issues that our society faces. From the prevalence of violence and crime to the moral decay that permeates our culture, we have the opportunity to shine the light of Christ and bring about transformative change.
With a focus on love, compassion, and justice, we can bridge the gaps that divide us and work towards a society rooted in God's principles. We can confront evil head-on by establishing solid relationships, fostering empathy, and actively engaging with our communities.
Join us as we delve into practical ways to put our faith into action. Together, let's inspire hope, promote healing, and make a lasting impact in the fight against evil in our society.
The Importance of Faith in Action
Faith without action is merely a passive belief. As Christians, we are called to believe in God's power and actively demonstrate our faith through our actions. In a world filled with evil, it is not enough to hold onto our beliefs within the confines of our churches. We must take our faith outside those walls and into the darkest corners of society.
When we put our faith into action, we become living examples of God's love and grace. Our actions speak louder than words, and by actively engaging with the issues plaguing our society, we can make a profound impact. Through our deeds, we can inspire others to see the transformative power of Christ and join us in our mission to confront evil.
Understanding the Concept of Evil in Society
Evil takes many forms in our society. It may manifest as violence and crime, injustice and inequality, or moral decay and corruption. It is a force that seeks to divide us and destroy the fabric of our communities. To confront evil, we must first understand its roots and manifestations.
Evil thrives in an environment of brokenness and despair. It feeds on the vulnerabilities of individuals and communities, perpetuating a cycle of pain and suffering. It is fueled by hatred, greed, and indifference. To combat evil, we must address the underlying issues that give rise to it.
As Christians, we believe that evil is ultimately rooted in sin. Sin separates us from God and one another, leading to a fractured society. By acknowledging our brokenness and seeking forgiveness, we can heal the wounds caused by sin and work toward a culture that reflects God's love and justice.
The Power of Unity Among Christians
There is incredible power when Christians unite for a common purpose. When we set aside our differences and come together as one body, we become a force to be reckoned with. Unity allows us to pool our resources, talents, and passions, amplifying our impact on the issues we face.
Jesus himself emphasized the importance of unity among his followers. In John 17:22-23, he prayed to the Father, saying, "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."
When Christians unite, we witness God's love and power. Our unity becomes a testament to the truth of the Gospel and a beacon of hope in a world filled with darkness. By working together, we can confront evil in our society with greater strength and effectiveness.
Biblical Teachings on Confronting Evil
Throughout the Bible, we find numerous teachings on how to confront evil. One of the central messages is the call to love our enemies. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus instructs his followers, "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." This command challenges us to respond to evil with love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Another important teaching is the call to seek justice and stand up for the oppressed. Proverbs 31:8-9 urges us to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
Furthermore, the Bible teaches us to be salt and light in the world. In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus tells his disciples, "You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." This means that, as Christians, we are called to engage actively with the world around us, bringing the flavor of God's love and the light of his truth to every corner of society.
By following these teachings and others like them, we can confront evil with the power of God's word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Examples of Christians Uniting to Confront Evil
Throughout history, countless examples of Christians have come together to confront evil and make a difference in their societies. One such example is the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Driven by their faith, leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks united believers of all races to fight against racial segregation and discrimination. Their peaceful protests and acts of civil disobedience brought attention to the injustices faced by African Americans and ultimately led to significant changes in the law.
Another powerful example is the abolitionist movement. Christians like William Wilberforce and Harriet Beecher Stowe fought tirelessly to end the institution of slavery. Through their efforts and the unity of believers who shared their convictions, they brought about the emancipation of millions of enslaved individuals.
These examples demonstrate the impact that can be made when Christians unite in faith and action. By standing together, they could confront the evil of their time and bring about lasting change. Today, we have the same opportunity to make a difference in our communities.
Practical Ways to Take Action as Christians
Taking action as Christians requires intentionality and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones. Here are some practical ways we can put our faith into action and confront evil in our society:
1. Get involved in local organizations: Join or support organizations actively working to address the issues you are passionate about. Whether it's a homeless shelter, an anti-trafficking group, or a community development organization, there are countless opportunities to make a difference.2. Volunteer your time and skills: Offer your time and skills to organizations and initiatives that align with your values. Use your talents to serve others and contribute to the greater good.3. Advocate for justice: Speak up for those who are marginalized and oppressed. Write letters to elected officials, attend rallies and protests, and use your voice to raise awareness about the issues that matter to you.4. Support ethical businesses: Make conscious choices in your purchasing habits. Support businesses that align with your values and promote ethical practices.5. Engage in dialogue: Foster conversations within your communities about the issues that must be addressed. Listen to different perspectives, seek understanding, and work towards finding common ground.
By actively engaging with our communities and taking practical steps to address the issues we face, we can confront evil head-on and make a tangible difference in the lives of those around us.
Overcoming Challenges in Confronting Evil
Confronting evil is not without its challenges. We may face opposition, resistance, and even personal doubts about the impact we can make. However, we must remember that our strength does not come from ourselves but from God.
In Ephesians 6:12, the apostle Paul reminds us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Our battle is not against individuals but against the spiritual forces that perpetuate evil in our society. With God on our side, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way.
It is also important to remember that change takes time. Confronting evil is a long-term commitment, and we may see short-term results. However, we must persevere, trusting in God's timing and continuing to do the work he has called us to do.
Resources for Christians to Get Involved
If you are looking for resources to get involved in confronting evil in your society, here are some organizations and initiatives you may find helpful:
1. International Justice Mission (IJM): IJM is a global organization that works to combat human trafficking, modern-day slavery, and other forms of injustice. They offer various ways to get involved, including advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering.2. World Vision: World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization that tackles issues like poverty, hunger, and injustice. They provide opportunities for individuals and churches to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and communities worldwide.3. Local faith-based organizations: Research and connect with local organizations in your community that align with your interests. Many churches and ministries have initiatives focused on social justice and community development.4. Community outreach programs: Check with your local government or community centers for outreach programs that address issues such as homelessness, addiction, or domestic violence. These programs often welcome volunteers and support from individuals and organizations.
Remember, these are just a few examples, and countless other organizations and initiatives are dedicated to confronting evil in various forms. Take the time to explore the options available in your area and find the one that resonates with you.
The Role of Prayer in Confronting Evil
Prayer is a powerful tool in the fight against evil. It connects us to God, aligns our hearts with his, and invites his guidance and intervention. Through prayer, we can seek God's wisdom, strength, and courage as we confront the darkness around us.
Prayer also transforms us from within. It softens our hearts, increases our compassion, and helps us see others through God's eyes. As we pray for those affected by evil and the perpetrators themselves, we cultivate a spirit of love and forgiveness.
Furthermore, prayer unites us with other believers. When we pray together, we draw strength from one another and reinforce our commitment to the task. It reminds us that we are not alone in our fight against evil and that God is working through his people to bring change.
In confronting evil, let us never underestimate the power of prayer. It is our direct line of communication with God; through it, we can tap into his limitless energy and transform.
Conclusion: The Impact of Christians Uniting in Faith and Action
As Christians, we have a responsibility to confront evil in our society. Our faith calls us to be the hands and feet of Christ, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to seek justice for the oppressed. By uniting in faith and action, we can profoundly impact the world around us.
Through our love, compassion, and commitment to justice, we can be agents of change in a society plagued by evil. We can confront the darkness and bring about transformative change by actively engaging with our communities, supporting organizations and initiatives, and praying without ceasing.
Let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Together, let us shine the light of Christ and inspire hope, promote healing, and make a lasting impact in the fight against evil in our society.

The Brokenness of the World
Thursday Feb 01, 2024
Thursday Feb 01, 2024
When my feet hit the ground, I am thankful the first words that came out of my mouth were Lord. I thank you for another day. Lord, guide me and lead me on a path you help me to take.
Let me. Be a messenger for you. Let me be a vessel for you. If it's your will, Lord, allow me to follow your son Jesus wherever you leave me.
Let me show and share your love and glory with everyone around me. It doesn't matter if I'm in a Walmart.
It doesn't matter if I'm in a restaurant if I can share—your love, your Grace, and if I can.
My testimony is that Jesus has saved me out of the mouths of hell. You bore me through military services when I had incidents occurred in 1963 at the age of nine, hit by a car going 90
miles an hour, and I'm still here, therefore. I know, Lord, that's what you bought me through it all.
Oh, my Lord and Savior, you are my God, and I will stand on a mountaintop.
And share. How thankful I am that you sent your son, Heavenly Father Jesus Christ, to die upon the cross not just for my sins but for the sins of the world so that we may reconcile with you.
People must realize we should be on our knees with our flip hands. I am thanking you, Lord, thanking you for everything. And I'm just going to sit as Jesus taught us to pray.
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
In a world filled with brokenness and uncertainty, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and lost. We search for answers to the deep questions that plague our hearts and minds. We crave hope, guidance, and a sense of purpose beyond temporary fixes. In these moments, we realize we need something or someone greater than ourselves to rescue us from the chaos.
This article will explore why Jesus is the answer we desperately need in a broken world. His teachings, life, and message offer hope, redemption, and a way forward. Through his sacrificial love, he provides us a path to restoration and healing, individually and collectively.
Join us as we delve into the transformative power of faith, exploring why turning to Jesus is not only a personal choice but also a universal need. Discover how embracing his teachings and finding solace in his presence can bring peace and purpose amid a broken world. It's time to find hope and reclaim our lives with Jesus as our steadfast guide.
The Brokenness of the World
Our world is filled with brokenness. We see it in the pain and suffering experienced by individuals and communities alike. The brokenness seems ever-present, from poverty and injustice to conflicts. It is easy to become discouraged and lose hope when faced with overwhelming challenges.
However, it is precisely amid this brokenness that Jesus offers us hope. He came into the world to bring healing and restoration. Through his teachings and life, he showed us a different way of living – a way that brings hope even in the darkest times. Jesus understands our pain and suffering because he experienced it firsthand. He is not distant or uninterested in our struggles.
Instead, he offers us a way to find hope and meaning amidst the brokenness.
The Search for Hope
In our search for hope, we often turn to temporary fixes – material possessions, relationships, or achievements. While these may provide temporary satisfaction, they do not offer lasting hope. They are like band-aids on a deep wound, providing temporary relief but failing to address the root cause of our brokenness.
Jesus, on the other hand, offers us a hope that transcends the temporary. He provides us with hope grounded in his love and Grace. His message is one of redemption and restoration –
telling us there is a way out of the brokenness we find ourselves in. When we turn to Jesus, we find an unshakable hope that gives us strength to face challenges.
The Teachings of Jesus that Bring Hope
Jesus' teachings are filled with wisdom and truth that bring hope to our lives. He spoke of love, forgiveness, and compassion – values desperately needed in a broken world. His teachings inspire us to rise above our circumstances and to extend Grace to others, even when it seems impossible.
One of the most powerful teachings of Jesus is the command to love our neighbors as ourselves. In a world filled with division and hatred, this teaching is revolutionary. It calls us to see the humanity in others, to extend kindness and compassion, and to work towards healing and reconciliation. When we follow Jesus' teachings, we become agents of hope in a broken world, bringing light where there is darkness.
Examples of Lives Transformed by Jesus
Throughout history, countless lives have been transformed by encountering Jesus. From the woman at the well to the tax collector Zacchaeus, Jesus' love and acceptance radically changed
their lives. These stories remind us that no one is beyond redemption and that even amid brokenness, there is hope.
Take the story of the Apostle Paul, for example. He was once a persecutor of Christians, filled with hate and anger. But his life was utterly transformed when he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. He became one of the greatest advocates for the message of Jesus, spreading hope and love wherever he went.
These stories remind us that no matter how broken or lost we may feel, Jesus offers us a path to transformation and healing. He meets us where we are and invites us to experience his life-changing love.
The Power of Faith in Jesus
Faith in Jesus is not just a passive belief. It is an active trust and reliance on him as our source of hope and salvation. When we put our faith in Jesus, we open ourselves up to the power of his love and Grace. We acknowledge that we cannot save ourselves and need him to guide us through the world's brokenness.
Faith in Jesus gives us the strength to persevere when facing challenges. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles and that our lives have a greater purpose. When we trust in Jesus, we find comfort and peace, knowing that he is with us every step of the way.
Finding Hope through Prayer and Worship
Prayer and worship are powerful ways to connect with Jesus and find hope amid a broken world. Through prayer, we can pour our hearts into Jesus, sharing our struggles, fears, and hopes. We can find solace in his presence and seek guidance in times of uncertainty.
Whether through singing, reading Scripture, or participating in communal gatherings, worship allows us to focus our hearts and minds on Jesus. It reminds us of his goodness and faithfulness, even in adversity. In prayer, we find strength and encouragement to continue the journey, knowing we are not alone.
Overcoming Challenges with the Help of Jesus
Life is filled with challenges and hardships. But with Jesus as our guide and source of hope, we can overcome even the most difficult circumstances. He offers us the strength and wisdom to navigate through the storms of life, providing us with a firm foundation on which to stand.
When we face challenges, Jesus invites us to lean on him for support. He promises never to leave or forsake us, assuring us that we can find hope and peace amid the storm. With Jesus by our side, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
Sharing the Hope of Jesus with Others
As we experience the hope and transformation from knowing Jesus, we are called to share this hope with others. Our broken world needs the message of Jesus now more than ever. By sharing our stories of hope and redemption, we can inspire others to seek Jesus and find the hope they desperately need.
We can be the hands and feet of Jesus, extending love and compassion to those around us. We can bring hope to a broken world through kindness, forgiveness, and Grace. As Jesus said, "You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). Let us shine that light brightly and point others to the hope found in Jesus.
Conclusion: Embracing Jesus as the Answer to our
Desperate Need for Hope
In a broken world, Jesus is the answer we desperately need. His teachings and life offer us hope, redemption, and a way forward. He provides us a path to restoration and healing through His sacrificial love. When we turn to Jesus, we find an unshakable hope that gives us strength to face challenges.
Let us embrace Jesus as our steadfast guide, finding hope and purpose in his presence. Let us share the hope of Jesus with others, bringing light to a broken world. In Jesus, we find the answer to our deepest longings and the source of hope that will never disappoint.

Courtesy in American Society
Introduction
People are running into you with grocery carts, taking a parking spot you were waiting for, and parking in handicapped spots Illegally.
People are tailgating you even though you are going the speed limit.
And so much more rudeness
Common courtesy is becoming a rare commodity in today's fast-paced and increasingly self-centered world.
From holding a door open to offering a polite "thank you," these small gestures of kindness slowly vanish from American society.
This phenomenon raises important questions about the erosion of social norms and their impact on our relationships and overall well-being.
Is it the rise of technology that's to blame? In a society where everyone is constantly glued to their smartphones, it's no wonder we've become disconnected from the fundamental interactions that define our daily lives.
It could be a shift in values and priorities. With the emphasis on individualism and personal success, some argue that common courtesy has been relegated to the backseat, deemed less necessary than climbing the social ladder.
This thought-provoking podcast delves into the disappearing common courtesy in American society, exploring the reasons behind its decline and its consequences on our communities.
Join me as I examine this societal vanishing act and consider the small steps we can take to bring back these simple acts of kindness.
Historical perspective on common courtesy
Common courtesy is a societal norm that has roots that stretch back centuries. In traditional societies, manners and respect for others were highly valued and essential for harmonious living. Etiquette manuals were widely circulated, providing guidelines for proper behavior in various social situations. These manuals emphasized the importance of common courtesy, teaching individuals to navigate social interactions gracefully and carefully.
However, as societies progressed and modernized, the emphasis on common courtesy started to wane.
The increasing focus on individualism and personal success led to a shift in priorities, with people becoming more concerned about their well-being and less attentive to the needs and feelings of others.
As a result, the once-cherished values of common courtesy began to fade away.
Factors contributing to the decline of common courtesy
While there isn't a single factor responsible for the decline of common courtesy, several societal changes have played a significant role in its disappearance.
One of the primary factors is the rise of technology. With the advent of smartphones and the constant connectivity they provide, people have become more absorbed in their virtual lives, often neglecting their real-life interactions.
This preoccupation with technology has decreased face-to-face communication, making it easier for common courtesy to slip through the cracks.
Another contributing factor is the increasing emphasis on individualism.
In a society that places great value on personal success and achievement, there is often little room for the consideration of others.
People are encouraged to prioritize their goals and aspirations, often at the expense of common courtesy. This shift in values has resulted in a decline in empathy and a lack of concern for the well-being of others.
Impact of technology on common courtesy
The rise of technology has profoundly impacted the disappearance of common courtesy in American society. With smartphones becoming an integral part of our lives, people are constantly engaged in their virtual worlds, oblivious to the needs and presence of those around them.
The simple act of holding a door open or offering a friendly greeting has been replaced by the distraction of scrolling through social media feeds or sending text messages.
Furthermore, the anonymity technology provides has eroded the sense of accountability and responsibility in social interactions.
Online platforms and social media allow people to hide behind screens, leading to a lack of face-to-face communication and decreased importance on common courtesy.
The ease of sending a quick message or comment without considering the impact on others has further contributed to the decline of common courtesy.
The role of social media in the decline of common courtesy
Social media platforms have revolutionized the way we connect and communicate with each other, but they have also played a significant role in the disappearance of common courtesy.
The highly curated nature of social media profiles often leads to a distorted sense of reality, where people prioritize their self-image over genuine human connection.
This focus on self-promotion and personal branding can lead to a lack of authenticity and empathy, ultimately eroding common courtesy.
Moreover, the anonymity provided by social media platforms allows for the spread of negativity and incivility. People feel encouraged to express their opinions without considering the impact on others, leading to a decline in respectful and courteous communication.
The constant exposure to these negative interactions on social media can also desensitize individuals, further contributing to the erosion of common courtesy in their everyday lives.
Examples of disappearing common courtesy in everyday life
The disappearance of common courtesy can be observed in various aspects of everyday life. For instance, consider the simple act of holding a door open for someone.
It used to be a common occurrence, a way to acknowledge and show respect for others.
However, this gesture is often overlooked or completely ignored today. People are too preoccupied with their thoughts or devices to notice those around them, let alone extend a small act of kindness.
Another example is the decline in saying "thank you" or expressing gratitude. In the past, a simple "thank you" was expected when someone did something kind or helpful.
However, now, it is not uncommon for people to take acts of kindness for granted, failing to acknowledge or appreciate the efforts of others.
The consequences of the vanishing common courtesy
The disappearance of common courtesy has far-reaching consequences for individuals and society. Individually, the lack of common courtesy can lead to feelings of isolation and disconnection.
When simple acts of kindness and respect are no longer the norm, individuals may feel unappreciated and undervalued.
This can hurt mental well-being and overall happiness.
Societally, the erosion of common courtesy contributes to the breakdown of social cohesion and community bonds.
When people no longer prioritize the needs and feelings of others, it becomes increasingly difficult to build strong and supportive communities. This lack of social connection can lead to increased social isolation, decreased trust, and a general decline in the quality of relationships.
Strategies to revive common courtesy in society
While the disappearance of common courtesy may seem like an insurmountable problem, there are small steps that individuals can take to bring it back into our daily lives.
One strategy is to lead by example. By practicing common courtesy, we can inspire others to do the same. Simple acts like holding the door open, smiling, or saying "thank you" can have a ripple effect, encouraging others to follow suit.
Another strategy is to prioritize face-to-face interactions over virtual ones. We can foster genuine connections and build empathy by consciously limiting our screen time and engaging in meaningful conversations.
Putting away our smartphones and being fully present at the moment allows us to be more aware of the needs and feelings of those around us, making common courtesy a natural part of our interactions.
Promoting common courtesy in education and upbringing
To revive common courtesy in society, starting early and promoting it in education and upbringing is essential.
Teaching children about the importance of kindness, respect, and empathy sets the foundation for a culture of common courtesy.
Schools can incorporate lessons on manners and etiquette, emphasizing the value of these small acts of kindness in building strong relationships and communities.
Parents and caregivers also play a crucial role in instilling common courtesy in children. Modeling polite behavior and reinforcing positive interactions can help children understand the importance of consideration and respect for others.
Encouraging children to express gratitude and appreciation for acts of kindness further enhances the value of common courtesy in everyday life.
What does the Bible say about courtesy?
What does courtesy mean in the Bible?
1 Peter 3:8. A short definition of courtesy would be “polite behavior that shows respect for other people.” Does God have anything to say about courtesy? Remember the “Golden Rule”? Jesus exhorts His disciples in Matthew 7:12: “Treat others as you want them to treat you.
The description of love in 1 Corinthians 13 includes a list of what love is not. We read that love “is not rude” in verse 5. Love, then, has good manners.
Rudeness is finding more and more acceptance in today’s culture. Public behavior and words that were unthinkable a generation ago are now commonplace.
We live in what essayist Merrill Markoe in the Wall Street Journal calls a “renaissance of rudeness.” The fact is that rudeness is rooted in selfishness.
Manners are meant to reduce the friction of human interaction; discourtesy reveals a lack of consideration for others. The ill-mannered person is communicating that “it’s all about me.” Love, by contrast, cannot be selfish because love is concerned for the other person’s well-being. Therefore, love is mannerly.
Conclusion: The importance of preserving common courtesy in society
In a world where individualism and personal success often take precedence, preserving and reviving common courtesy in American society is crucial. The disappearance of these small acts of kindness has significant consequences for our relationships, well-being, and communities. By recognizing the factors contributing to its decline, such as technology and shifting values, and taking small steps to bring common courtesy back into our daily lives, we can build a society that values empathy, respect, and genuine human connection. Let us not allow common courtesy to vanish completely but instead make a conscious effort to keep it alive and thriving in our interactions with others.

America: A Nation in our schools they are in a state of Chaos and Confusion - The Need for JesusIn recent times, America has become synonymous with chaos and confusion. The very fabric of society seems to be unraveling, as political divisions deepen, violence escalates, and moral values erode. It is becoming increasingly clear that what America needs is not just another politician or a quick fix, but a spiritual revival centered around Jesus.
One argument for including God and Jesus in schools is the potential contribution to the ethical development of students. Religions often emphasize values such as empathy, compassion, honesty, and forgiveness. These teachings can serve as a moral compass, helping students navigate life's complexities and make ethical decisions. Instilling these values can promote a harmonious atmosphere and shape individuals who are empathetic and considerate towards others.
Religious beliefs provide a framework for understanding the world and one's purpose within it. Incorporating discussions about God and Jesus can encourage students to think deeply about existential questions, igniting a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives. This can lead to greater engagement in learning, as students find intrinsic motivation in connecting their studies with a larger spiritual context. The chaos and confusion we witness today stem from a collective loss of direction and purpose. We have forgotten the values upon which this great nation was founded. Our founding fathers sought to establish a nation that would guarantee freedom, justice, and equality for all. However, we have strayed from these principles, allowing greed, divisiveness, and self-interest to dominate our actions.Jesus, as a figure of peace, love, and compassion, can provide us with the guidance and wisdom we so desperately need. His teachings promote unity, forgiveness, and the pursuit of a higher purpose. Embracing the message of Jesus would help us regain our moral compass and restore a sense of harmony within our diverse society. In a nation plagued by political polarization, Jesus offers a different perspective. He transcends political ideologies and calls for a focus on what truly matters: treating others with respect, seeking justice for the marginalized, and showing compassion for the less fortunate. By following Jesus' example, we can bridge the ever-widening gap between the left and the right and foster a more inclusive and empathetic society.Furthermore, Jesus' teachings emphasize personal accountability and self-reflection. He challenges us to examine our own actions and attitudes before passing judgment on others. By doing so, we can overcome the culture of blame and finger-pointing that has engulfed our nation. Instead of focusing on what divides us, we can unite in our shared humanity and work towards common goals.America's youth, in particular, can benefit from the message of Jesus. With rising rates of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, young people are searching for meaning and purpose. Jesus provides them with a sense of belonging and significance, assuring them that their lives matter and that they can make a positive difference in the world. It is important to note that advocating for the need of Jesus does not mean imposing a religious dogma on society. Rather, it means recognizing the universal values that his teachings embody and incorporating them into our daily lives. In recognizing the importance of love, forgiveness, and compassion, we can begin to heal the wounds that divide us and create a more harmonious and compassionate society. In conclusion, America is indeed a nation in chaos and confusion. The problems we face run deep, requiring more than just political or economic solutions. What we truly need is a spiritual awakening centered around Jesus. By embracing his teachings, we can restore our moral compass, bridge political divides, and foster a society grounded in love and compassion. It is time for America to turn to Jesus and find the path towards healing and unity.

A Visit from St. Nicholas
BY CLEMENT CLARKE MOORE
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
This Nation Needs Jesus
Just a little Faith
The Christian faith centers on beliefs regarding the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While it started with a small group of adherents, many historians regard the spread and adoption of Christianity throughout the world as one of the most successful spiritual missions in human history.
We all need Jesus more than ever here and now
